Certifications

Four programmes. Four certifications. One installer.

Each brand runs its own technical assessment. I'm accredited with all four.

CarPro
CarPro Certified Installer

CarPro CQuartz is formulated in the Czech Republic and relied on by some of the most meticulous detailers in the world. Certification requires completing CarPro's product curriculum and hands-on assessment before authorised-installer status is granted.

Gyeon
Gyeon Authorised Installer

Gyeon's Q² coating range is engineered for real-world durability across varying climates. As a Gyeon authorised installer I can match the right product to your vehicle, your environment and how you use the car day to day.

Gtechniq
Gtechniq Certified Installer

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and Crystal Serum Ultra are among the hardest ceramic coatings available. Gtechniq's certification programme is stringent · I hold active certified status with the brand.

SystemX
SystemX Authorised Installer

SystemX Diamond is a 9H-rated ceramic coating with lifetime warranty options. SystemX controls its installer network carefully. I'm an authorised SystemX installer on the Sunshine Coast.

About

Every car gets my full attention. No handoffs.

Four certifications from four different manufacturers, each earned separately.

When I set up O'Keefe's Prestige Detailing, I made one rule: every car that comes to me gets my hands on it. Not a junior. Not a subcontractor. Me.

The people who trust me with a high-value vehicle deserve to know exactly who is touching it. Getting certified with CarPro, Gyeon, Gtechniq and SystemX was not a marketing exercise. Each programme has its own technical curriculum, its own assessment process, and its own product chemistry. Holding all four means I can match the right coating to the right car rather than defaulting to a single brand regardless of fit.

If you have spent real money on a vehicle, it is worth talking to someone who has taken the training seriously.

Services

What I do.

From a single-stage polish to full paint protection film with a lifetime ceramic coating over the top.

01

Ceramic Coating

A permanent or semi-permanent protective layer that bonds chemically to your paint. Once cured, it repels water, contamination and UV, and adds measurable gloss depth. I work with CarPro CQuartz, Gyeon Q², Gtechniq Crystal Serum and SystemX Diamond · the right product depends on your car, how you use it, and what protection duration makes sense for your situation. Packages run from 3-year entry-level coatings through to lifetime-grade products on qualifying vehicles.

02

Paint Protection Film

Clear urethane film applied to the surfaces that take the most road damage: bonnet, bumper, mirrors, door leading edges and A-pillars. PPF absorbs stone chips and scratches before they reach your paint. The better films self-heal minor surface marks under heat. I install PPF as a standalone service or as a base layer before ceramic coating for complete physical and chemical protection. Partial front-end packages through to full-body wraps.

03

Paint Correction

Before any coating goes on, the paint needs to be right. Swirl marks, buffer trails, water spot etching and light scratches become more visible under a ceramic coating if they are not corrected first, because the coating amplifies the gloss. I use a machine polishing process: single-stage for light correction, multi-stage for more serious defects. I inspect every car and quote the correction stage honestly before any work begins.

04

New Vehicle Preparation

New cars come off the lot with dealer-applied wax, handling marks and sometimes minor paint defects from transport. Before you drive it home permanently, I can decontaminate, correct where needed, and apply a long-term coating · so it is genuinely protected from day one, not just showroom-clean. New vehicle prep is the most cost-effective point to apply a coating because the paint is in the best possible condition to start with.

05

Interior Protection

Leather seats, suede headliners, carpets, door cards and glass can all be treated with ceramic or fabric-specific protective coatings. Interior protection repels spills, UV fade and general wear. A properly coated leather surface stays looking right for years longer than untreated leather · without the cracking and fading that comes from no protection on a vehicle used in Queensland heat.

06

Maintenance Programs

A coating is a long-term investment. How it is maintained determines how long it performs. I offer maintenance wash programs using chemistry compatible with your specific coating · no strip-wash products, no drive-through automation. Regular maintenance keeps the hydrophobic effect active and the gloss where you paid to have it. Annual or bi-annual maintenance visits are available for existing clients.

The Process

What goes into a full paint correction and ceramic coating.

Step by step, from first wash to final cure.

Most people see the finished result and assume it is a few hours of work. A proper job on a high-value vehicle is typically a two-to-three day process. Here is what that looks like.

Day One

Decontamination

A thorough pre-wash, snow foam application, contact wash, clay bar treatment, and chemical decontamination to pull out the iron particles, tar and industrial fallout that regular washing cannot shift. This stage matters because coating over contaminated paint seals the problem in.

Day Two

Correction

Machine polishing in stages · from heavier compound down to fine polish · checking under high-intensity lighting between each pass. The target is paint that reads clean and defect-free under proper inspection, not just under showroom fluorescents.

Day Three

Coating & Cure

The ceramic product goes on panel by panel in controlled conditions. Once applied, it needs cure time, typically overnight before any moisture contact and several days before a full wash. The curing window is not where corners get cut.

That is what you are paying for: the process, not just the product.

Accreditation

Active certified status with all four programmes.

Not self-awarded. Each certification is issued by the manufacturer after their own assessment.

CarPro, Gyeon, Gtechniq and SystemX each run their own authorised installer programmes. Getting certified means completing the manufacturer's technical training, passing their assessment, and maintaining standards for ongoing accreditation. I hold active certified status with all four. That is the proof I can put in front of you: not what I say about my own work, but what four respected paint protection manufacturers are willing to put their name behind.

FAQ

Questions I get asked a lot.

Straight answers on ceramic coating, paint protection film and how I work.

What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your paint and forms a semi-permanent or permanent protective layer. Once cured, it adds hardness, gloss depth and hydrophobic properties · water and contamination bead off the surface rather than sitting on it. It is not a substitute for paint protection film where physical impact protection is needed, but against UV, bird droppings, industrial fallout and wash-induced swirling, it is significantly more effective than wax or a standard paint sealant.
How long does ceramic coating last?
That depends on the product and how the car is maintained. Entry-level coatings applied correctly last 2 to 3 years. The products I use at the higher end of the range · SystemX Diamond, Gyeon Q² DuraBead, Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra · carry 5-year to lifetime warranties when installed by a certified applicator and maintained correctly. Maintenance matters: a coating cared for with compatible chemistry every 6 to 12 months will perform significantly longer than one that goes through an automatic car wash.
What is the difference between ceramic coating and paint protection film?
PPF is a physical barrier. It absorbs stone chips, scratches and minor road impacts before they reach the paint. Ceramic coating is a chemical barrier: UV, contamination, bird acid, water spots. They solve different problems. For a high-value vehicle the strongest protection is usually PPF on the high-impact areas · bonnet, bumper, mirrors, A-pillars · with a ceramic coating applied over the top of everything. That combination gives you physical and chemical protection in the same package.
Does the paint need to be corrected before a coating goes on?
In almost every case, yes. A ceramic coating does not fix paint defects: it locks them in. Swirl marks, light scratches and water spot etching that were barely noticeable before a coating can become obvious underneath one, because the coating amplifies the gloss. I do a paint inspection on every vehicle before quoting and will tell you honestly what level of correction the car needs. Some cars need a single-stage polish. Some need multi-stage correction. A few need very little. I quote accordingly.
How long does the process take?
A full paint correction and ceramic coating on a standard car is typically 2 to 3 working days. A larger vehicle or one in poor paint condition takes longer. Paint protection film adds time depending on coverage: a full front-end package is usually 1 day, a full-body wrap is 3 to 5 days. I will give you a specific timeframe when I inspect the car.
Can I wash my car right after a coating is applied?
No. Most ceramic coatings need 24 to 72 hours to cure before contact with water, and at least 7 days before a full wash. I give you specific post-care instructions for the product applied to your vehicle. The curing window is not the place to cut corners: a coating disturbed during cure will not bond correctly and the result will not match what you paid for.
What vehicles do you work on?
Anything from a well-kept daily driver someone wants properly protected through to exotics and collector cars. My typical clients bring me late-model luxury and performance vehicles · Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW M-series, AMG Mercedes, high-specification SUVs. I also work on motorcycles and discuss other vehicle types on a case-by-case basis. If you are not sure whether your vehicle is a fit, give me a call and I will give you a straight answer.
How much does it cost?
The honest answer is it depends: the car's condition, its surface area, and the level of correction and coating required. Paint correction alone varies considerably depending on how much work the paint needs. Ceramic coating packages vary by product tier and vehicle size. I don't work off generic price lists because the variables are too significant for that to be useful. Give me a call, tell me what you're driving and what you are after, and I'll give you a straight quote.
